The outpatient clinics and faculty practices do not show real profits and often need to be subsidized. The true overhead of the practices are often not evident because many of the costs are born by the hospital and not the practices. Accounting, legal, insurance and billing and collection expenses are prime examples. The practices' office systems often lead to procedures not being billed correctly or not being billed at all. Staffing levels are often excessive at the same time as being inefficient. Attempts to remedy these problem internally have not, in most instances, been successful. Madonna Management Services has extensive experience in the evaluation and reorganization of medical practices. From office systems, chart documentation and billing procedures to the streamlining of physician activity, we can achieve an improvement of the bottom line. MMS will come into the practice or clinic with our evaluation team and do an in depth analysis of all personnel, office procedures and practices. We will evaluate the providers productivity and coding levels in conjunction with chart documentation. We then prepare a detailed report of our findings with specific recommendations for the correction of any deficiencies. After the evaluation, MMS can come in to the clinic or practice, institute the necessary changes and reorganize and retrain the staff. Training in coding and documentation for the providers and staff is provided. After this process MMS can oversee the operation as well as provide whatever other management services that are needed.
